National Grid has taken a number of steps to modify our business practices and daily operations to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on our customers and employees. The company understands the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed. As such, we have enacted policies and guidelines for our field and office personnel that are in line with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines. Our staff is following recommended social distancing protocols, using personal protection equipment, and more.
We also recognize that it is absolutely critical we maintain the reliability of our energy infrastructure during this pandemic – especially at a time when many customers are confined at home and depend on our services. As a result, we have continued construction operations and field reviews for projects that are essential to maintaining safe, reliable energy for the region while following strict health and safety guidelines.
National Grid is continuously monitoring releases from the CDC, the World Health Organization, and state health agencies, and we will continue to evaluate how best to meet our customer needs amid this evolving crisis.
